For the past year, Analise has been using a pacifier to help soothe her to sleep. It didn’t bother me too much b/c she only needed it for her naps and bed time. I recently realized I would have to wean her off of the breast milk at around 18 months and had to rethink things. It was either a) let her use the pacifier while weaning off breast feeding and risk her growing more attached to the binky or b)get her off the pacifier now and that will be one less thing to break her from later. I went with b. For the past few days, sleep has been in short supply around here. I think she’s starting to get the hang of falling asleep without her pacifier, but it’s not without much protest.
(I felt this picture captures Analise’s current feelings about her paci intervention)
i love this picture! it makes me cry and smile at the same time! =)
oh, and we’ll take it – unless you get a better offer before we get back.
may be a TMI question, and feel free to answer me by email, but how hard is it to ween them from BM?
