My sister wanted her Prom dress to be to totally different than everyone else’s, so I volunteered to make it for her. We started off with one of my mom’s old lace dresses.

After we finalized the design, it took me about 3 days to complete. I probably would have been able to finish it in one, but it’s not so easy to keep a 4 and 16 month old occupied while working away on the sewing machine. 
The finish product. I altered the neckline to be a little more daring. Took the skirt in. Added two taffeta tiers in the back which we call poofs. We had to think of a way to hold the top of the dress up and decided on two bows. Finally, sewed in a pewter/silver lining along the front to tie in the silver “poof.” Please excuse the quality of the pictures.
