Decided to make cupcakes for Ana’s birthday. My idea was to have a cupcake base with a cake lollipop sticking out of the middle of it. The lollipop would be in the shape of a monkey head (the theme for her party).
Banana cake base.
The chocolate cake balls for the inside of the lollipops. Formed and ready for the fridge.
Peanut butter frosting.
The cake balls were dipped in chocolate. They didn’t want to stay on the sticks 🙁
I had to improvise and this is the final product.
We flattened the balls intended for the lollipops and used them for the monkeys head. A little frosting and some banana runts completed the look. I think they turned out great and tasted good too.

oh, and still practicing (sporadically) on that technique, but it just doesn't seem quite right, yet =)
