For Valentine’s weekend, Anthony and I decided to take a little trip to Steamboat Springs CO. We dropped the girls off with my family in Denver and drove up from there. It took us about 4 1/2 hours.
At the top we took a sleigh ride to restaurant where we were having dinner. We didn’t take a lot of pictures of the actual ride up. It was super cold and we spent the whole time trying to keep warn under the blankets. We went across the mountain through the woods and past some of the ski slopes. The trees were gorgeous covered with white snow.
The following day, Valentine’s day, I scheduled a trip to the hot springs. The springs are about 9 miles outside of town and are only accessible with a 4 wheel drive vehicle or with tire chains. The drive was beautiful and we even saw some caribou on the side of the mountain. The water comes out naturally from the mountain at 140 degrees and as it makes its way down it cools down to about 100-105 degrees.
Are hot springs really hot? or just warm? Looks so cool! I want to go there.
