We just completed the Tough Mudder this past weekend…
From the website:
Probably the toughest event on the planet!
Tough Mudder events are hardcore 10-12 mile obstacle courses designed by British Special Forces to test your all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie. With the most innovative courses, 700,000 inspiring participants worldwide to date, and more than $5 million raised for the Wounded Warrior Project, Tough Mudder is the premier adventure challenge series in the world.
This is the first Tough Mudder that the course went into 2 states.
It was so cold that day. The temperature never hit over 45 degrees. We were miserable after multiple water obstacles. My muscles started to spasm and cramp at mile 6. It was painful to stand still and I forced myself to run just to keep my heart pumping and Charley horses from developing in my calves/quads/hip flexors. The obstacles were not too bad and neither was the running. The weather was what really killed the day for me. Glad we all made it through in one piece. I have so many stories to tell and there is no way I can get it all in one post. Call me and I would be happy to share my war stories 🙂 Oh and we have video footage from the GoPro Ty wore on his head. Trying to get it edited and small enough to post on YouTube…stand by.
This is right before we jumped off a 15 ft wall into muddy water. So terrifying!
The coveted orange headband. Still smiling even though I could barely feel my fingers and I still had mud in places the sun don’t shine. One bad MUDDER!
