One thing that I can say for certain is life as a Tydingco is never dull. I’m not sure how to summarize these past few months, so I will let our pictures tell the story for me.
We’re moving back to CO!
In November we received some great news…the Tydingco’s are moving back to CO in the summer! Anthony got picked up for an in-residence school slot at the University of CO – Colorado Springs with a follow on job at the AF Academy. The whole family will be back this May.
This is a bitter sweet move for us. The Air Force was unable to find me a position out in CO (crazy, I know) and my only options were to wait until sumer of 2016 for a possible opening or separate from the military. I was unwilling to split our family apart, so I made the difficult decision to transition back into the civilian work force. My last day in uniform will be on the 4th of May. My heart is broken, but I know life has bigger plans for me. If anyone is looking to hire a healthcare administrator…let me know 🙂
Early in March, AnthonyPaul had several episodes of unexplained vomiting, so I brought him into the emergency room. They performed a tap on his shunt to determine if his symptoms were caused by shunt failure. All the tests came back normal, so they discharged him after a couple nights in the ICU.
Unfortunately, after a week or so at home, AJ developed diarrhea that progressed to vomiting and lethargy. We were concerned he was getting dehydrated, so we brought him back to the ER. After another series of tests, another shunt tap, and a dropping heart rate, the neurosurgeons decided it was indeed shunt failure and decided to operate immediately. AnthonyPaul was in surgery for 2 1/2 hours where they replaced part of his shunt to include the reservoir and valve. We are happy to report that after a couple of days recovering, AJ is back to his normal cheery self. God is good and we have ourselves a tough little boy.
Enough with the heavy stuff.
Here are some pictures of us not at the hospital.
New bath technique while daddy was TDY
New hair cut for little man to try and even out what they shaved off for surgery
Exhausted after sleepless nights in the hospital (Jo likes to play pranks on her daddy)

Follow up appointment at Children’s Hospital
Those are all the updates this one blog post can handle. There is much more to report, but that will have to wait till another day. The next few weeks will be filled with packing, saying goodbye, plane/car trips, and so much more. I’ll try my best to keep you all updated, but please forgive me if you don’t hear anything until June.
