Birth Story
Started having contractions on Halloween after taking the kids around the block trick-or-treating, but they spaced out and faded away. Continued to go to work regardless of my intermittent contractions but finally decided to call it quits on Tuesday, November 3rd. I was able to do some last minute nesting and get some much needed rest at home. On Thursday night, November 5, my contractions started to get a bit more intense and by midnight we were calling my aunt and uncle to come watch the kids. We arrived at the hospital around 12:30, was checked and at 6 -7 cm dilated and in active labor. They moved me into a room and started my IV. I am proud to say that I have experienced and lived through 2 unmedicated births, but this time around I decided to treat myself and opted for the epidural. By 3:45AM I was 8cm and the Dr. came in to break my waters. At 4:15AM I started pushing and an hour later our baby girl was born. She was sunny side up and a little blue because she was wrapped up in her umbilical cord, but otherwise perfect and healthy.
Lauren Noelle Tydingco
Born on November 6th @ 5:15AM
6lbs 10oz, 19 3/4″
Meeting her brother and sisters for the first time
I’m slowly recovering and trying to get back into the swing of having a newborn. The older kids are great and have been a big help around the house. AJ is over the moon with his new baby sister. He is always touching and “kissing” her and will also be the first one to tell us when she’s fussy/crying. Lauren is a great eater but hasn’t quite mastered sleeping when she should (i.e. she’s up all night). Ty and I are exhausted but love our little family so much.
