Again with all the technical difficulties! I hoped this new platform would solve all my blogging problems, but now were dealing with a whole new set of issues. Hopefully we find a solution soon, so I can blog more frequently without all the frustration.
Enough ranting. Lets talk about the first quarter of the year. Although we spent much of our time at home or in the local area, we’ve achieved a lot, learned new skills and ate a lot of good food (as per usual).
Does this bring you joy?
I jumped on the Marie Kondo bandwagon and organized the shiz out of our basement. We still had boxes of random stuff sitting in the unfinished storage area and anyone that knows me knows that drives me insane. We were also constantly picking up toys in the play area because the babies idea of fun was to dump everything out on the floor…NOT FUN for mommy! I wish I had a few before pictures, but are the finished areas. Best part of this “makeover,” I used things we already owed and only had to purchase some big clear bins!

Food made with love
Many of you know, I love to cook, probably because I love to eat even more. I’ve been pulling the kids into the kitchen as much as I can hoping they will learn to love it as much as I do.

Last time I was in CO, we found my mom’s recipe book. The kids and I attempted her siopao for the first time.

Ballers!
Jojo and Ana decided to try volleyball for the first time. Jojo started with a team at the YMCA and then tried out for her school’s varsity team…she made it! Ana wanted to join in on the fun too and joined a group at the Y. Their skills have improved tremendously over the past few months. I hope they keep playing.

Midlife Crisis?
I’ve been wanting to get my ears pierced for a while. One random Friday afternoon, I went for it and headed to a tattoo shop in St. Louis on my own to get 5 new holes! I’m a cool mom.

Green Thumb
I’ve been successful at keeping a few house plants alive and with the favorable IL weather, I thought “what the heck” and decided to take a stab at gardening. None of us have a clue what were doing and just stared throwing seeds and a few plants in the ground. It’s been about at month and a half and things are growing! We’ve already harvested some strawberries, arugula, and cilantro!

No Training Wheels
Took AJ’s training wheels off and in a couple days, he was a pro!
Go Girl!
Ana signed up for the Girls on the Run club at school and their season ended with a 5k run through the city. It was a miserable cold and raining morning, but we had a great time.

Lots more to update, but we’ll save them for next time.
