We get so busy sometimes we forget to stop and acknowledge all the great things we have and all the incredible people in our lives. We also forget to acknowledge our personal strength and capacity to deal with the crap and end up better on the other end.
These past few months have been filled with celebrating milestones and accomplishments as well as the little wins along the way like surviving yet another day of toddler tantrums and teen/preteen hormones. Cheers!
Dinner for Two
Ty and I really enjoy our date nights and try to get out at least once a month for a quiet dinner away from the kiddos. We usually end up talking about logistics and other necessary adult topics that comes with raising 4 growing children, but the opportunity to focus and create a game plan is how we manage the hectic life we live. Good food and alcoholic beverages also help 🙂

First glass of many

Smarty Pants
Thank goodness JoJo and Ana are so self sufficient and work really hard in school. Lord knows I provide little help on homework assignments and projects…Google is my saving grace. I’m so proud of how they strive to excel and do their best.

Mommy, mom, mama, ma, mommy…
I tell Ty and the kids every year that I don’t want much for Mother’s day. I just like to keep it low key and spend time with my babies. However, they always find a way to make me feel special with thoughtful gifts and gestures. Jocelyn woke up early to make breakfast and they presented me with these beautiful floral gifts (plants to add to my garden and office).

Cap and Gown
After 2 years of sleepless nights and lost weekends, I finally complete my second masters from Johns Hopkins – MS Healthcare Management. It was one of the hardest and most humbling things I’ve done in my life. My classmates were successful executives, physicians and working professionals and I learned as much from them as I did from my professors. I have a new appreciation for my personal determination and Ty’s commitment to see me succeed. He was the reason I could sneak away to study and do homework night after night. He never complained about having to keep the kids out of the house during my hours of exams (all video proctored and recorded). He was my rock and encouraged me to keep going when I thought I couldn’t do it.
To celebrate this great accomplishment, Ty and I flew out to Baltimore to attend the Carey Business School graduation ceremony. Here’s a little recap of our trip. You’ll notice most of our time was spent eating…not a surprise.

Ty and I flew straight to Colorado from Maryland to attend our god daughter’s high school graduation. I can remember the very first time I met baby Claire like it was yesterday. She has grown up to be such a beautiful, driven and intelligent human being and we all can’t wait to see how this small but mighty girl is going to change the world. Congratulations Cooie, we love you!

High Five!
This loving little dude turned 5 this month! Oh baby boy, you bring us so much happiness. You are fearless, kind, rambunctious, thoughtful and deserve everything this world has to offer. 5 years ago you were fighting to get out of the hospital, but you would never know that now. We love you to pieces.

Note to self: Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.
