Oh boy, here we are a little over 1 year after the first positive COVID case in Colorado. What everyone hoped would be a temporary change to our daily lives turned into ‘this is just how it is now.’ I don’t think things will ever quite be the same, but hoping these vaccines can get us all one step closer to what life was like 12 months ago. Until then, we will continue to make the most of the situation.
Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to over the past 9 months.
Home Improvements
Being home 24/7 really gives you time to pick apart all the things that could be better, but better always comes with a price tag. I, unfortunately, have Restoration Hardware taste on a Home Goods budget. So what does one do with lots of time and YouTube? Home DIYs, of course! I borrowed a table and miter saw from my uncles and bought a few new toys for all the fun things I had planned.

Next project – Board and batten accent wall for the entry way. Took me a lot longer than expected, but I’m happy with the end result!

Art project – I was not willing to pay over $500 for an piece of art, so I made one myself. Used leftover caulk from the entry wall project and sample paints from Lowes…thrifty!

Last big project – Basement workout room
I got myself this beautiful water rower and needed to make it’s surroundings just as beautiful. Found an inspiration picture on Pinterest and did my best to recreate the look with wood flooring, paint and trim. Love it and have been using this room every day since.

I capture most of my home improvement project and interior decor on my IG https://www.instagram.com/ctydingco/

2020-2021 School Year
The kids started the school year with a hybrid schedule of face-to-face and virtual classes. This lasted for several months and then they all went completely virtual when the COVID cases started to rise in the state. Ty and I continued to work fulltime and, although, I am still 100% remote, there was no way I could balance it all. We were fortunate to find someone to help with the kid’s school assignments and pick up/drop off on school days- it takes a village!

Getting Hitched
Several of our close friends and family members got married and, although the pandemic forced everyone to make adjustments to how they celebrated the day, we’re happy to be there to witness and support their unions.

Newest Addition to the Family
Meet Momo! He is a French Bulldog and just the biggest sweetheart. I started hinting to Ty that I wanted to get a puppy, as if our lives weren’t crazy enough! He was not a fan of the idea and never once agreed to my idea.
One day while I was out running errands, I randomly decided to stop into a shop where my cousins had gotten their last 2 dogs and low & behold, this little guy was there and immediately stole my heart. I stayed and played with him for a while, FaceTimed with Ty, and it took every ounce of my soul to walk away without him. He was the first dog I’ve seen, so didn’t want to make a rash decision.

As opposed as Ty was, he surprisingly caved and urged me to go back to get Mo before someone else did. I resisted and the next day I visited other puppies with Jo and Ana to see if there were any others that would fit our family. As you guessed, no other dog compared and by the end of the day we were on our way back to the pick up Mo.

To say we were completely unprepared is an understatement. We picked up a dog bed, wee wee pads, and poop bags before we got him and that was it! This is where our little guy slept the first weeks.

JoJo and Ana Named Momo after the Avatar character because of his ears.
